Parigi - 10th Anniversary
This year, Promemoria is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its opening in Paris. For the occasion, a special limited edition collection «Dix Ans Paris» has been created. This exclusive collection highlights the skills of the Promemoria craftsmen. All pieces are entirely hand-made by skilled cabinet makers and artisans using rare and precious materials, pieces which become works or art.
Bronze is the protagonist as in Ketoj, small table, stool and bookcase all made with a fusion of bronze; trompe-l’oeil with which the shade effects of light and dark reveal the veins of a tree trunk. Boccaccio, the austere yet welcoming armchair has a structure with a grid pattern which is also made from bronze.
As a shadow reproduces the object which creates it, the ardesia slate discs of the Pia lamp, with their increasing and decreasing circumferences, redesign the silhouette of the original leather upholstered model. This floor lamp has been made from ardesia discs set above each other and standing on a bronze base. The Pia’s linen lampshade sits delicately on the top.
Battista, a small folding table and a best-seller, has been made using aluminum - a first for Promemoria - with arabesque decoration on the top. From aluminum, a suitably light material for the Battista table, to the heavier marble for the round table, Bassano’s vertically stacked marble rings shine on a base.
Mademoiselle Tecla, a precious cabinet in Indonesian macassar ebony, has been decorated with small bronze inlaid stars using a new technique, and with bronze waves. It is surrounded by stars, treated with warm bees wax, upholstered internally with LED lighting.
For the anniversary, the Paris showroom has been given a special makeover; floral compositions decorated the windows, panels which represent ivy adorned the walls. Just as ivy plants its roots with determination, so Promemoria, born on the shores of Lake Como, expanded its roots to Paris ten years ago before reaching out to other world capitals.
