Leading interior architecture company David Collins Studio and Promemoria have joined forces to create a new range of furniture and lighting, The London Collection.
Established in 1985, David Collins Studio has redefined luxury interior design on a global scale for three decades. Today, the multidisciplinary collective of designers gathered together by David Collins (1955-2013) continues his remarkable legacy with eminent projects for clients ranging from international fashion houses to leading hotel groups.

Longtime collaborators, the companies have created custom designs for David Collins Studio residential projects for the past decade, but the 2013 Capsule Collection marked their first joint venture available to the public.
Refining and expanding the mutual love of geometry and symmetry that inspired the debut range, The London Collection is born of the dynamic design synergy that continues to flourish between these two creative forces.

Each piece in The London Collection is named in honour of David Collin’s affection for the elegant garden squares that adorn central London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
The Bramham dining chair, for example celebrates Bramham Gardens, David’s former London residence. Other notable pieces in the collection include the curvaceous Grosvenor “tête à tête” love seat and the Cadogan table, available in three finishes: gold brushed blue oak, gold leaf oak and Brazilian black Agata marble.

At the heart of The London Collection is an appreciation of exceptional craftsmanship and a dedication to producing pieces that exemplify the cultivated luxury that defines both David Collins Studio and Promemoria. These are pieces that invite touch and inspire social interaction, enriching a welcoming home. Born from the collaboration between Promemoria and the artist Mattia Biagi, PANAMA BRONZE is a unique and limited edition piece, completely made in a bronze fusion.
For several years Mattia Biagi has worked with tar, creating various pieces.
The PANAMA chair which was designed by Romeo Sozzi, was "upholstered" in tar by the artist, the Promemoria craftsmen then finalised the work by adding bronze fusion.


Mattia Biagi was born in Ravenna, Italy, in 1974 and for the last ten years has lived in Los Angeles. He has studied the disciplines of art and design. His knowledge of different cultures, passion for photography, art, fashion and architecture, have bestowed in him a unique personal aesthetic taste based on influences from many disciplines in the arts.
He was inspired by tar from a visit to the La Brea Tar Pits, a natural geological site with various deposits of tar and fossils.

This year, Promemoria is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its opening in Paris. For the occasion, a special collection « Dix Ans Paris » has been created. The collection comprises the re-working of iconic pieces which have been displayed in the Paris showroom.
The furniture and lighting on show pay testimony to the creativity of Promemoria.
This exclusive collection highlights the skills of the Promemoria craftsmen. All pieces are entirely hand-made by skilled cabinet makers and artisans using rare and precious materials, pieces which become works or art.
For the anniversary, the Paris showroom has been given a special makeover; floral compositions decorated the windows, panels which represent ivy adorned the walls. Just as ivy plants its roots with determination, so Promemoria, born on the shores of Lake Como, expanded its roots to Paris ten years ago before reaching out to other world capitals.

An authoritative figure on the contemporary French scene, Bruno Moinard boasts a portfoglio of commercial and cultural projects for an international clientele from Christie’s to Cartier, from the Lafayette Gallery to the Musée des Arts Decoratif.
His style, which owes something to Andrée Putman thanks to a lengthy collaboration with Ecart International, is distinguished by a minimalism shrouded in warmth, sobriety without severity and a sense of timeless elegance all of which favoured a collaboration with Promemoria.
With his studio, 4BI, he has created an authentic laboratory of style which has given birth to private interiors, luxury boutiques, theatre sets, all which carry his strong and refined mark of detailed carvings.

For Promemoria, Bruno Moinard has created a collection of furnishings which include sofas, coffee tables, consoles and a series of lamps with an oriental feeling, characterised by graphic lines and strong colours, warm hues, sensual shapes.

“My own vocabulary”, as Bruno Moinard affirms, “fits easily to the code and philosophy which Romeo Sozzi has always gone by; a search for the essentials, the generosity of shapes, the use of sophisticated materials and the importance of detail until the quality of haute couture is present in each product. It is a collection which is the result of a dialogue and a vision in common of two creators who share the same sense of timelessness of creation and the same love for the craftsman of art”.

His ceramics have an international reputation, his name is inexorably linked to the café Marly, inside the Louvre. Olivier Gagnère has worked with precious materials, moving in the worlds of limited editions, and finding the sensitive spaces inside art galleries for his creations.
He has been a protagonist in the world of tables, not only with porcelain, but also with Murano glass, with accessories and ornaments, beyond decoration, at the restaurant of the chef Pierre Gagnaire in Seoul. Beside the Galerie Maeght, Kreo, En Attendant les Barbares which dedicated to him personal exhibitions, in 2006, l’Art Museum di Shanghai awarded him a retrospective.

He has designed two collections for Promemoria. The first, Mediterranée, has a base in rattan which accompanies ebony, bronze and leather. It is developed around the theme of a guéridon and a console. The second, Atlantique is of a similar type but with different finishings, from the base in bronze and materials which enhance the virtuoso craftsmanship.

“These pieces”, as Olivier Gagnère explains, “are the result of my meeting Romeo Sozzi and my pleasure of working with Promemoria. I have always been fascinated by the quality and the extraordinary demands of the production of the furniture which are made in Promemoria. It is with enormous pleasure that I have thrown myself into this world of excellence in which the simple shapes are asked to enhance the quality of the materials used and the virtuouso craftsmanship”.

In our memories lies a Lilliput world, a little theatre or a doll’s house with undersized furniture: mignon chairs, miniature armchairs and a tea set, complete with table and stools, laid for the Mad Hatter.
Romeo Sozzi has created some pieces of “mini” furniture which are timeless pieces of household furnishings; a chair, an armchair with pouf and an extra small writing desk. These pieces are a return to the C8th (18th century). tradition of “meubles miniature” and the Victorian tradition of “doll’s house furniture”, periods which belonged to the most aristocratic and visionary collectors.
This furniture is decorative but at the same time practical, especially for children. These pieces are small conversions of the essential Promemoria; perfect in their proportions and with the highest level of craftsmanship and the very best deluxe materials. Bilou Bilou, a symbol of Promemoria which Romeo Sozzi has made in thousands of variations of theme and colour, has been re-invented as a baby model and upholstered in vividly tactile and coloured fabrics. The same has been done with the armchair and pouf “Gacy” and the “Mon Ami” writing table, both made in light but very solid wood and transformed into sculptured objects, perfect for the children’s room, but above all for a special “adult” room which should always have a little corner for memories.
