Andrea Sanguineti

I grew up in Turin with a passion for car design, art and architecture. I graduated with Roberto Gabetti. Fascinated by the architecture of Mollino, Gabetti e Isola, the Turin car designer, the Rivoli Art Museum, the Gam and the city's galleries, suggestions that have left a deep influence on me.

In Milan I came in contact with the world of design thanks to Carlotta de Bevilacqua working with her at Artemide. During that period I got in touch with international designers and had the opportunity to fully understand the world of contemporary design. I collaborated with Oliviero Toscani, Mario Trimarchi and Poltrona Frau Group dealing with temporary exhibitions, communication and products. I remember with emotion the temporary exhibition projects in which I participated working with Giulio Cappellini and Renato Stauffacher.

One of my installations in 2010 won the Compasso d’Oro mention. Together with Renato Stauffacher and my dear friend Alessandro Mano, we bought Alias, where I have been Design Director for many years. Years intense, full of stimuli and contacts with great designers and other protagonists of design. My artistic direction in Alias has been focused on the quality of the design so that I have devoted myself in developing new collections with international designers, including Alberto Meda, Alfredo Haberli, Sou Fujimoto, Atelier Oi. In recent years, a long with my design consultancy activity, I have developed interior projects and often participated as a speaker and visiting professor in workshops with Bocconi, IED and Domus Academy.

I have met Romeo Sozzi, and had the opportunity to show him a research project of a sofa. I have a strong feeling with Romeo, and I feel many affinities concerning the culture of design, knowledge of materials and techniques.
